Emergency Menstrual Warning Signs
While most period symptoms are a natural part of cycle changes, certain red-flag signs require immediate emergency medical evaluation.

If you are experiencing severe sudden pain, uncontrolled bleeding, high fever, or signs of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), please call national emergency services (112 in India / 181 Women Helpline / 14416 Tele-MANAS) or visit the nearest hospital immediately.
Go to Emergency Room Immediately If You Experience:
- •Severe Sudden Pelvic Pain: Sharp, excruciating lower belly pain, especially if on one side.
- •Signs of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS): Sudden high fever (>102°F), vomiting, diarrhea, sunburn-like rash, or fainting while using tampons or cups.
- •Extreme Heavy Bleeding: Soaking through two or more maxi pads/tampons every hour for 2 consecutive hours, or passing golf-ball sized blood clots.
- •Severe Dizziness or Fainting: Feeling lightheaded, extremely pale, confused, or unable to stand.
